Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve 16 Beta

With the announcement of Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve 16 beta, users will be able to try the new capabilities until mid-August 2019. A free version of DaVinci Resolve 16 (beta) is available as with the previous versions. Do you have a DaVinci Resolve Studio license purchased then you can also download a free version of it.

Since Resolve 16 beta has a huge amount of new features, we have only put a few of them in this blog post.

Be careful when installing DaVinci Resolve 16 beta

Before we give an overview of the new possibilities in DaVinci Resolve 16 beta, the following. Be careful when installing DaVinci Resolve 16 beta! Do not install the beta version on your production computer. While the software is in beta, things may not work, the software may crash but more importantly.

The Resolve 16 beta version will overwrite the previous version of DaVinci Resolve.

DaVinci Resolve 16 Cut PageNew cut page in DaVinci Resolve 16 beta

The most important news in DaVinci Resolve 16 beta is the cut page. The cut page allows for a faster way of working all the way if you can use it DaVinci Resolve Editor Keyboard. There are two presentations of the timeline, the entire timeline and there, among other things, detailed presentation. This way you can see at a glance where you are working in the timeline. The cut page is also ideal for video editors editing on a laptop as only the essential editing tools are directly visible.

To add transition effects such as dissolves you no longer need to be on the cut point, but Resolve 16 can recognize where there is a cut point and place the dissolve there. Fast review is a very interesting addition. Longer clips in the timeline play faster than shorter clips so that you can ultimately view a timeline faster.

DaVinci Neural Engine new in Resolve 16

Also new in Resolve 16 is the DaVinci Neural Engine. Thanks to the addition of the neural engine, Resolve 16 can use face recognition, auto color and color matching, super scale for up-scaling and AI technology. The neural engine can be used in a network environment and will provide the most optimal performance under the hood itself.

Frame IO integration DaVinci Resolve 16

In the new version of DaVinci Resolve is also FrameIO integration present. Thanks to Frame IO, remote collaboration on productions is possible and customers can remotely watch a video, comment and approve. More about Frame IO in DaVinci Resolve 16 can be found in this video.
