Nucleus-Nano wireless follow focus
The Tilta Nucleus-Nano or Nucleus-N is a small complete wireless follow focus system. In addition to a pouch, some cables and batteries, the kit consists of the two Nucleus main components, namely the Nucleus-N motor and the Nucleus Hand Wheel Controller.
In addition to the Hand Wheel Controller, the Motor can also be controlled by various handles from the modular Tiltaing camera cages.
The Nucleus-N Hand Wheel controller
The Nucleus-Nano Hand Wheel Controller can be compared to the FIZ unit of the Nucleus-M or a standard mechanical follow focus, but more compact.
The 14500mah battery makes it possible to operate the controller for 6 hours.
Pay attention! Can you power the Hand Wheel via the micro usb port?
No, the Hand Wheel has a strict 5V (max!) input limit for the micro usb port. It is only intended to connect to a computer for software updates.
The Tilta wireless follow focus system is characterized by a high degree of accuracy, flexibility and is very accurate. The Nucleus-Nano Hand Wheel Controller works up to approximately 90 meters without delay.
Supplied and optionally available accessories allow the Hand Wheel controller to be mounted on most non Tilta rigs and gimbals.
The Nucleus-N Engine
Despite the very high torque, the completely redesigned Nucleus-Nano Motor hardly produces any noise. It is therefore possible to make super fast and precise focus pulls. The built-in 15mm rod adapter ensures that the Nucleus-Nano Motor can be easily mounted on cages and gimbals. The motor is powered by a Micro USB connection of 5-18 volts. The torque of the Nucleus-N Motor at 5.5V is 0.65Nm and at 14.8V is 1Nm.
The built-in 15mm rod clamp makes it possible to mount the Nucleus-N motor on any 15mm rod camera rig.
Side Focus Handles
The Nucleus-N motor can also be controlled and powered by one of the Focus Handles from the Tiltaing range. The Focus Handles offer space for a battery ranging from a small Canon LP-E6 to the considerably larger Sony F970. The motor can be controlled with a thumb wheel in the handle. The motor will no longer work wirelessly.
Tiltaing
Tiltaing is a set of modular camera cages for the most popular camera brands such as Sony, Panasonic, Blackmagic, Z-cam and others. For most models of cages, the base of a camera rig, handles are available with a built-in thumb wheel. These thumb wheels are intended to control the Nucleun-N Motor. This is extremely useful for the filmmaker who works without a focus puller.
