Description
Using Tokina's AT-X 16-28 f / 2.8 for photographic full-frame cameras as a starting point, the engineers designed an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens fully tailored to the professional film industry. The existing optical formula of the photography lens was used for the design, but beautiful new solutions were introduced for the construction.
TO ATX16 28C graph The objective is parfocal. This means that the focus is completely independent of the zoom movement. It also means that lens breathing and image shift have been reduced to a minimum. That alone makes this lens a professional film lens. The aperture system is clickless and equipped with nine curved blades, providing extremely accurate exposure and a beautiful bokeh. In all this there is minimal distortion and despite the high brightness, the minimum subject distance is no more than 28cm. This offers videographers the opportunity to create highly spatial images with an impressively wide field of view and at the same time show a powerful perspective.

The strong features at a glance:
Parfocal lens with constant focus during zoom movements,
Constant high brightness of T3.0 from 16 to 28mm,
Minimal focus breathing, allowing for subtle framing,
Soft running diaphragm of 9 curved blades for ultra-smooth brightness control and bokeh,
Virtually invisible image shift during zoom movement,
Aspherical lens elements and SD glass for minimal distortion and maximum resolution,
4K ready,
Full metal construction, for durability with heavy use,
Interlock focus ring for use with follow-focus systems,
Common 114mm front diameter for use with matte boxes and other front accessories,
Zoom, focus and iris information on both sides of the lens for maximum deployment of camera teams,
LDS (Lens Data Support) is possible
